New Community Hub for Children and Families Launching in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay

A new community-led initiative is in motion to bring a dedicated hub for children and families to Bundaberg and Hervey Bay. This collaborative project between Impact Community Services and Wide Bay Kids aims to create a welcoming space where families can access support, services, and activities all in one place.

  • Children and family-focused
  • Integrated support services
  • Safe, inclusive, and welcoming space
  • Community and service provider collaboration

The idea for the hub came from direct feedback gathered through community consultations, surveys, and previous local reports. Families shared a strong desire for a central, child-friendly space that offers timely access to services and opportunities to connect. Recognising this need, Impact Community Services and Wide Bay Kids are now working together to bring it to life. The hub will offer an integrated model of support, co-locating a variety of providers under one roof from early childhood services and education to mental health and medical support. The aim is to make it easier for families to engage with the help they need, when they need it, in a space that feels safe and supportive.

Wide Bay Kids will take on the role of project manager, ensuring the voices of families and the broader community remain at the centre of the design. The initiative builds on proven models used in other areas, while adapting to suit the local context in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.

Feedback is now open for individuals, families, service providers, and businesses interested in shaping what this community hub looks like and how it will operate.
