The Bundaberg Region Welcomes You Program is an online learning opportunity designed to strengthen how we host visitors, connect with them, and showcase what makes our region special. Whether you’re at reception, behind a café counter, running tours, driving a bus, or volunteering at events, your role in shaping someone’s experience of Bundaberg matters.

This micro-credential course includes five bite-sized modules (from 5 to 40 minutes each), covering topics like:

World-class hosting techniques
Accessibility and inclusive service
Storytelling to help guests connect with our region
Cultural and environmental values unique to Bundaberg
Local experiences and tourism highlights

You’ll build confidence to engage more meaningfully with visitors
You’ll gain regional knowledge to personalise guest experiences
You’ll be recognised as part of a Queensland-wide network of trained community hosts
You’ll receive a certificate you can use to promote your host status

Welcome to Bundaberg is proud to be part of this Queensland-wide initiative to grow our visitor economy, support frontline workers, and create consistent, high-quality guest experiences across the state.

The Bundaberg Region Welcomes You Program is available year-round and offers free training until November 2026. The program aims to strengthen community connections and grow a network of regional ambassadors. Register online here to get involved.
